Pregnancy yoga helps you prepare for the birth of your baby. Your pregnancy and delivery are a natural process of transformation for body and mind. Thanks to these changes, your baby is born in the optimal environment to develop further. Our pregnancy yoga classes are set up in such a way that they support you before, during and after delivery. You don't need any experience to participate. You will notice that the confidence in the natural power of your body grows. This way you will be well prepared and confident about your birth.

In the lessons, your confidence in the natural forces of your own body will increase and you will be better prepared for the birth of your child.

Pregnancy Yoga Birthlight

Later in your pregnancy you can follow Birthlight. This increases confidence in your body and your baby. You discover your preferences for your pregnancy and delivery. With the exercises you restore and maintain your balance, with attention to pelvic awareness and the importance of correct breathing. Here too, much attention is paid to the bond between mother and baby. You move in connection with your baby and the exercises are easy to follow and enjoyable. We recommend this class for later in your pregnancy or when you need a quiet class to balance your busy mind.

Pregnancy Yoga Flow

At Thrive you follow two types of pregnancy yoga. Flow combines prenatal yoga poses with deep breathing. This is how you prepare for childbirth. You first make contact with your baby and find your peace. Then we enjoy a continuous flow of gentle prenatal stretches and poses. This opens the hips, relieves tension in your lower back and creates more space in your shoulders and chest. Thanks to this yoga flow you move with your breathing, in connection with your baby. You can follow these lessons from the beginning of your pregnancy.

Childbirth Preparation Course

Prepare yourself and your partner for the birth of your little one. During the 8-hour birth preparation course you will learn everything about the birth process, different postures and breathing techniques. You will also learn how to confidently manage the contractions through relaxation, acupressure, visualization and other methods of natural pain relief. If you have a partner you can take him or her with you, he or she will receive practical instructions on how you can best be supported. This way you can surrender to the intense natural process and your baby is born in a harmonious way. The course consists of 4 workshops of 2 hours, of which 2 with your partner (optional) and is offered every 2 months.

Baby-parent yoga (post-natal course)

The birth of a baby is one of the most profound and formative events in life for both mother and baby. After birth, both mother and baby have time to get used to and familiarize themselves with the new and changed life. As a mother you find a new balance in carrying the great responsibility that your child brings and taking up your own life. This 4-week Postnatal Mama and Baby Yoga course offers the opportunity to gently move, relax and exchange experiences with your baby and other mothers. We do postnatal yoga exercises with and without a baby, which are aimed at strengthening the pelvic floor, abdomen, hips and back and relaxing the neck and shoulders. The babies can watch, sleep, drink or having fun while you are nearby. Come to this inspiring yoga class with your newborn baby! For mothers and babies from 6 weeks after delivery up to crawling age.

  • Every two months in our Oost or Zeeburg studio.

Week Card Pregnancy Yoga

For pregnancy yoga, the system is different from a regular strip card. To stimulate continuity in the groups, we work with a 6, 12, 18 or 24 week card. You can come on a card 6x, 12x or 18x respectively, but then within the validity of the number of weeks. If you are not able to make up the lesson, you can of course make up the lesson, on another day or the following week, that is why the card is valid for 1 extra week per 6 weeks (so 24 weeks, you have 4 extra weeks). If you buy a larger multi-week card, you pay less and less per lesson, varying from 16 euros (6w) to 13 euros per lesson (24w). Your classes are standard for pre-natal and post-natal (mother babay yoga). 

If you give birth earlier than planned, your remaining times will remain valid for post-natal or regular yoga at Thrive (max. 3 additional months). If your card is used up, you can buy individual lessons for the rate of your card (so depending on your card for €13 to €16 per lesson). So plenty of options, keep us informed and sign up for your classes!

A trial lesson costs € 10,- and if you still want to buy a number of individual lessons, you pay € 20 per lesson. The pregnancy yoga card is valid for all classes in the three studios, so you are not tied to a time or location! We appreciate it if you register for the class.

Two or five trial lessons of Yoga or Pilates

To give a good impression of Thrive Yoga, we offer you the choice to start with:

  • 2 trial lessons within 1 week (€ 17,-)
  • 5 trial lessons within 1 month (€35)

Lessons can be held in the studio, outdoor lessons as well as for livestream lessons being used! The perfect way to get acquainted with the different classes and teachers at Thrive. You can follow both Yoga and Pilates (of which a maximum of once Aerial). We advise you to try out different classes / teachers so that you can experience our varied offer. This introduction card offer is only available once if you have not taken classes with us before and only available if you live in Amsterdam (or neighboring municipalities).

You can take a separate trial lesson for Pregnancy Yoga for € 10,-. If you are already a Thrive member and have a ride card, you can also use it once for a trial lesson without additional payment.
