WHat is Yoga?
The yoga philosophy is more than 3000 years old and originated in India, originally intended to unite mind and body through meditation. In this time, yoga is widely available in many modern forms, with particular postures and movements are commonly known. But a conscious breathing and relaxation are less know but essential components. Thrive chooses to teach an authentic form of yoga, where in each lesson there is attention to different aspects of yoga; posture (asana), breathing (pranayama) and meditation (Dhyana). The lessons are active and strenuous while deeply relaxing and mostly accessible for every one, all ages, male and female.
Yoga has many proven benefits' for our health and wellbeing. The regular practice of Yoga helps you to live fully and consciously (to 'thrive'!). Some possible reasons for practicing yoga:

Thrive offers various yoga styles including active and Vinyasa Yoga and Jivamukti Yoga, we move to the rhythm of the breath. But also relaxing Yin Yoga, where you're going at a leisurely pace through a series of deep-seeking attitudes. Each class is an unique experience and is led by an anatomical week focus and month theme from the yoga philosophy. Choose the yoga style that is currently best suited to your needs!
In yoga we work in small groups, so there is much room for personal attention to everyone's experience and areas of interest. Regardless of your experience you can therefore join a yoga class and we will help you with by so-called adjustments and detailed instructions.
