Julia

I am a psychologist, doula and pregnancy yoga teacher. I’m from Hungary, living in Amsterdam since 2011. I have studied the psychology of pregnancy and birth, researched and wrote my thesis on ‘Childbirth Initiation’ As a doula I had the honor to support several couples on their journeys to parenthood both in hospital and home settings, both in Budapest and Amsterdam.

At Thrive we have set up a comprehensive program to prepare for birth both on the mental and physical levels. At the weekly yoga classes you can prepare by creating strength and flexibility, deepening your body awareness and strengthening your bond with your unborn child. At the birth preparation course you and your partner receive the necessary information and practical tools to be able to make informed decisions and prepare consciously for birth.

As a psychologist I specialize in supporting the intense transitional period of pregnancy, birth and postpartum, providing mental and emotional support. By individual consultations I can help you…
    - prepare emotionally for the birth and becoming a mother,
    - release emotional problems, like anxiety, fear, depression,
    - strengthen your bond with your unborn child,
    - process your birth experience, or
    - resolve postnatal depression.
