To me, yoga is about awareness and connection. Connecting to the present moment, connecting to your body, connecting to your true self. To be. With everything that there is. It is a process of self-reflection and personal growth. When practicing yoga there is no place for ego or ambition. All the labels we carry with us throughout the day about who we are and what we do, no longer matter. There is only you.
Yin yoga is a very passive, nourishing form of yoga. Practicing Yin not only helps me on many physical levels but has also shown me to be very therapeutic. It has given me the tools to listen to my body with sincerity and compassion. To trust. To create space. To get to know myself on a whole new level. But most of all, yin has shown me how to reconnect with what makes me me.
It is this aspect of uniqueness in particular that I feel passionate to emphasize in my classes. I believe strongly in personal attention and engagement with my students, encouraging them to discover the version of a pose that best serves their unique self. Most importantly, I wish to create a warm and friendly atmosphere where you feel you can just be you.
