Yoga is magic. We might start the practice for selfish reasons but once we place our bodies in certain shapes while focusing on the breath we turn into caring and loving beings and the practice serves not only us but all of us! Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu: May all beings everywhere be happy and free!

My inner journey started in 2001, when I attended a ten-day meditation retreat in a monastery in Thailand. In the morning Yoga was offered and the peacefulness that I experienced coming out of the final relaxation made me realise that there is a 'way out' of suffering, addiction and obsessiveness. Since this retreat I have been practicing yoga and meditation and, with my love for music and singing I was quick to discover kirtan (yogic music) and Indian classical music which have become a great passion for me as well. I took my first teachers training (Sivananda) while traveling through India in 2003 and also spent many years in Thailand, studying and teaching at the tantric Yoga school  Agama. Here I immersed myself in esoteric teachings like in-depth studies of the chakras and tantric visions of the feminine. Since 2011 I regularly visit Ananda Ashram in upstate New York to study Sanskrit and traditional Yoga texts such as The Bhagavad Gita and The Yoga Sutras. In 2012 I took the Jivamukti Yoga teacher training, seen by many as the gold standard, and apprenticed at the Jivamukti Yoga studio in NYC for a period of five months. In Jivamukti Yoga I found the perfect yoga for me: artful, rigorous and uncompromising Vinyasa, lots of mantra and Yogic music, study of the original yoga texts and cultivation of a (vegan) Yogic life style based on compassion for all beings.

Although the vinyasa flow of my classes can be demanding, the added elements of hands-on assists, a meditative atmosphere, and a carefully chosen music playlist will make your experience easeful and light. My classes are in English.

Besides teaching for Thrive Yoga I run Yogasalon, where I teach yoga classes and facilitate vegan cooking courses, kirtan, yogini circles and classical Indian music concerts & workshops. ( I offer my gratitude to all of my teachers who brought me where I am and to Marco for creating this beautiful yoga community at Thrive Yoga.
