When I started practising Pilates I found in it a great source of inspiration for my job as physical therapist, and I quickly experienced improvements in my indoor climbing performance. I was so enthusiast about it, that I started the Polestar Pilates Mat education to become a teacher. When I prepare a class (or a series of classes), I try to find a theme that being either strength, flexibility or awareness, and I attempt to bring in some physical therapy insights.
In my life I practised several sports, ranging from basketball, dance, tennis, strength training, climbing, and for 17 years capoeira (also becoming a teacher). With this background, I believe that Pilates can be a great addition to many other sports, and as a former office worker, I can only recommend it to anybody spending a lot of time in front of a computer.
